CREATION

an epic

This season is the culmination of three years of work on this creation, part of which was rehearsed at La Cour, a living stage.

This is a new format: a whole day at the theater, for children… and their parents! From morning to early afternoon, the entire team of actors takes you on a contemporary epic written by four contemporary authors.

A journey in several parts, interspersed with breaks: snack intermission, picnic, sound nap… and many twists and turns.

The story is a secret to be discovered. What we can reveal to you is that this story takes place today, in the hearts of two children. A big sister, Deneb, and a little brother, Xen, propelled one day into the big world and who, in their journey, will meet many other fantastic characters. A true epic of today where, unlike The Iliad and The Odyssey, it is no longer a question of conquering lands... but of preserving them. Large-scale adventures performed by seven actors, a musician on stage and puppets, to experience and share with the family.

- site dedicated to young spectators to follow the creation

- publication of the piece in October 2020.

REPLAY

Hen

Hen light

Hen (which can be pronounced Heune) was born from a period of research during a residency at La Cour, scène vivante and following a presentation of a very short form during La Cour en Chantier in March 2019.

HEN then became a show and it was important for us to play this show in Clermont-Ferrand, where it all began.

HEN is a Swedish pronoun that entered the dictionary in 2015, allowing the use of both male and female pronouns. It is used in particular in school textbooks experimenting with less discriminatory teaching methods.

This creation is the result of research into questions of identity and gender confronted with research into the origins of a subversive puppet theater.

HEN is the name of a hybrid character who transforms and plays with masculine and feminine images with sarcasm and insolence according to his desires.

A puppet figure manipulated by two actors, HEN is full of life, exuberant, a raging and virile diva in heels who expresses himself by singing about love, hope, bodies, sexuality with great freedom.

At a time of searching for identity or a desire to define everything, HEN is an extraordinary character who does not seek to be defined, standardized. He is like that, multiple, transformable.

The show received the National Critics' Union Award.
